Choosing Varnish Shades for Early Spring
We are steadily heading into the spring season and rapidly offering ideas to help you get yourself ready. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out a few shades that are sure to help brighten the wintertime blues. Today we want to look ahead to the coming season.
What to Wear
We’ve been covering the latest in fashion and are applying what we’ve learned about the 2012 Spring/ Summer fashion trends to these ideas. It’s all about bold colour, simmering metallics, high contrast accents and simple chic neutrals. Well, that’s just the start, but you’ll get the idea. We’ve got new additions to our store and the colour ranges are growing every day. Keep an eye out for them below!
We’ve got some fun ideas to help bring spring fashions to your nails – even if it is a little early.
The Daily Commute
While we don’t recommend doing your nails during your commute, we do think you should always look hot whilst on the road. Most people spend a large percentage of their workday just getting to and from work so you’ve got plenty of time to work it. For daily notice-me nails try bright, simple colours like reds, pinks, corals and even bright pastels.
This is perhaps the best time of the weekend, we’ve all had long enough to relax and enjoy some time off – however they choose to do it. Whether you are strolling your pooch in the park or lazing with an afternoon movie this is a day for soft, feminine shades. For sweet, chill out nails try for soft pearly whites, shimmering pastel shades or simple neutrals.
Shopping is one time when we tend to tone down the colour, especially in the spring. Colour is everywhere and most of what we are buying will be colourful. Keeping our cosmetics more neutral allows us to try everything whilst still remaining hopelessly chic. For handsome easy shopping nails try glossy blacks, glittering greys and soft taupes.
It doesn’t matter who you meet for your afternoon coffee (even if it is just a good magazine), your nails should look fab. In the spring it’s still cool enough to enjoy the warmth of a steamy mug and we think the fingertips holding that mug should be simply technicolor. For a sunny afternoon mug nails try any colour that suits your fancy silver, hot yellow, aquamarine – plan to suit your mood at the moment.
This is perhaps the ideal time of year for going out to the club, it’s not totally freezing – but there still a nice chill in the evening air. As usual for this kind of event we recommend going as bold, bright or as contrasting as you can go. For hot night out on the town nails try popping neon brights, sparkling glitter gem tones or bright icy pastels.
Afternoon of Culture
Whether you want to spend it at the museum, checking out monuments or enjoying some national history we think looking your best is culturally expected. This is a time for expressing your inner aficionado and looking as serious about learning as you feel. For nails that give you that extra interested look try warm corals, soft blue-greens and glittering metallics.
Romantic Dinner Out
This is one activity that transcends all seasons, whether you are meeting a new potential or dining out with an old sweetie. It’s important to show your sweet feminine side, while retaining a little bit of your sex kitten savvy all at the same time. That’s not as difficult as it sounds, especially if nail polish is the only thing you are wearing. For sexy night out nails try soft metallics, sweet rosy pinks or even sex kitten oranges.
We are and we hope this will help get you in the mood for fun spring colours. Whether you are a pro honing your skills or a novice practicing with your off hand, we hope you’ll check out our store to stock up on supplies.
