Skin Tone and Nail Varnish
All skin tones fall under warm or cool, but they can be further broken down to determine which season your colouring identifies with. Here is a quick guide to help you determine your seasonal skin tone and pick the perfect varnish to suit your colouring.
Finding Your Skin Colour
Everyone falls into a seasonal skin colour and finding yours is easy, you are either warm or cool and clear or muted. A combination of these 4 variations will pinpoint your season.
Warm or Cool?
Is your skin cool (with pink or blue undertones) or warm (with yellow or golden undertones).
Clear or Muted?
Do you have a clear tone (with high contrast between skin, eye & hair colour) or muted tone (with little contrast between skin, eye & hair colour).
What Season Are You?
Based on the choices above there are four combinations, one for each season of the year. See each season below to find out where you fall.
Springs are a combination of warm & clear skin tones. Skin is ivory often with peachy undertones (sometimes freckled) and there is generally a deep contrast between skin, eye & hair colour. Eyes are clear and light in colour and hair can be light blonde to strawberry blonde to deep brown. Learn more about spring tones.
Summers are a combination of cool & muted skin tones. Skin is pale pink often with blue undertones and there is little contrast between skin, eye & hair colour. Eyes are usually blue or green and hair is blonde or light brown. Learn more about summer colours.
Autumns are a combination of warm & muted skin tones. Skin is light with golden undertones and little contrast between skin, eye & hair colour. Eyes are usually golden brown and hair ranges from deep red, to brown to black. Learn more about autumn colours.
Winters are a combination of cool & clear skin tones. Skin is dramatically white, yellow-olive or dark in colour, and there is usually a stark contrast between skin, eye & hair colour. Eyes and hair are usually brown, but blondes can be winters too. Learn more about winter colours.
