Newest Whimsy – The Legend Collection

Their dreamy new collection is entitled The Legend and includes 7 amazing new shades, each one with a perfectly romantic name. We are loving all of them and can’t wait to see them on our nails!

It’s All About the Colour

We love some of Mavala’s amazing shades and it’s clear that the fashion world is catching on. Beauty guru, Nichola Joss selected Mavala Rose Dust as the perfect manicure compliment to accentuate the feminine boho vibe of Mulberry’s Spring/ Summer 2012 Collection.

Colouring the Fashion World

Mavala Ambassador & Nail Technician of the Year Jenni Draper headed-up the Mavala team to create the fab deco-inspired nail fashion that perfectly complimented the Belle Sauvage Spring/ Summer 2012 Collection.

The Look

Nails were first prepped with Mavala Basecoat to ensure a smooth application for colour. Mavala White (a solid, opaque shade) was applied all over the nail before Mavala Touch of Provence was added, leaving white half-moons in a retro-glam style.

“The contrast of the bold white against pastel lilac created a modern and refreshing take on the classis half moon 1940’s manicure.” Said Jenni.

Colouring Toni&Guy

Mavala Ambassador & Nail Technician of the Year Jenni Draper headed-up the Mavala team to create four distinct looks on 60 models for Toni&Guy debut hair show, kicking off London Fashion Week.

There were four unique and definitive nail fashions used for the show.

Look #1 Classic
Nails filed and rounded to an elegant almond tip which elongates fingers. Mavala Moon Grey was then applied for an understated and classically chic finish.

Look #2 Casual
Once nails were prepped with Mavala Basecoat, Reno, a cream based nude tone was applied for a casual yet polished finish.

Look #3 Glamour
London, a rich blue toned red, was selected to illustrate the vampy, yet lady-like section of the collection. Nails were filed to a defined tip then colour was applied and sealed with high-gloss Mavadry Topcoat.

Look #4 Creative
Where the fun meets the fabulous. Jenni and her team created a reverse-mani, by first applying vibrant Waikiki Orange topped with Daring Pink.

The Brand

The Tour

Day One

Open Day includes an introduction to Nubar; demonstrations and technical advice from The Nail Team as well as play areas where salon owners and Nail Technicians can try the products for themselves.

Day two

Advanced Skills Workshop focusing on design and new techniques. This will be held by The Nail Team where Nail Technicians can further their skills, pick the brains of the leading competition winners and get a chance to win one-off prizes by entering the themed nail design competiton.

The winning design from the competition will be featured in Scratch Magazine and on the Palms Extra website.
